Evan OBranovic's Annotated Transcript of course work in the MAET program
CEP 800: Learning in School & Other Settings
Instructor: Danah Henriksen
Spring 2013
CEP 800 introduced me to several concepts of learning that I could apply to both my teaching and understanding of how my students were learning. The coursework helped develop my use of various pedagogical approaches in my classroom and assess how my students were learning and what I could do to make them the most successful. My final project created a thoughtful analysis in digital story format of how my class learned fractions and what I could do to help my students better understand the concept.

CEP 810: Teaching for Understanding with Technology
Instructor: Carolyn McCarthy
Summer 2012
CEP 810 was my introduction to the MAET program at Michigan State. The course work introduced me to many crucial concepts when looking at educational technology including Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) and Professional Learning Networks. CEP 811: Adapting Innovative Technologies in Education
Instructor: Nancy L. Ayers
Fall 2012
CEP 811 helped me discovery what innovative technologies were available to help improve and modify my instruction to my students. I explored concepts like the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to help adapt my current and new teaching to accommodate all types of learners. Resources like Merlot gave me a infinite tool box for teaching my students various skills and I practiced my ability to evaluate resources and find the ones that best fit my students' needs. My final project was create a Stand-Alone Instructional Resource (STAIR) on Circuits that I currently use with my students and can be accessed on the Merlot database.

CEP 812: Applying Educational Technology to Issues of Practice
Instructor: Sandra Plair
Fall 2012
CEP 812 had me collaborating with my peers about how to best use educational technology to improve my current classroom teaching practices. We were tasked with identifying a Wicked Problem that we hoped to solve with technology and worked with several types of collaborative tech tools that could be used with our students and professional peers. I created my first WebQuest in order to address the needs to teach Science skills that had little resources and time that allowed my students to successfully explore the solar system.

CEP 815: Technology and Leadership
Instructor: Joshua Rosenberg
Spring 2013
CEP 815 discussed the importance of leadership in an organization that hopes to utilize technology. The comparison was often made to the business world which provided a unique perspective when taking the concepts into education. I worked with the presentation software Prezi in order to showcase one of the most interesting parts of the course: The Seven Transformations of Leadership.

CEP 820: Teaching Students Online
Instructor: Anne Eileen Heintz
Summer 2013
CEP 820 introduced me to the world of designing my own online courses to supplement my classroom teaching. The entire course was spent building and analyzing a course platform that could be best used to teach content from my classroom online. I was taught how to evaluate and asses various online course platforms to find what works best for me. The end product was a complete unit using Haiku in my new Social Studies curriculum that is currently being used by my grade-level team to teach the required skills.

CEP 822: Approaches to Educational Research
Instructor: Leigh Graves Wolf
Fall 2013
CEP 822 helped me find and use educational research to try and solve problems I experience or notice in my teaching or education as a whole. I am now able to thoughtfully aggregate and analyze research information to help support my theories in education. My first research question was understanding what elements of digital/media literacy have positive impacts on student learning.

TE 803: Professional Roles and Teaching Practice II
Instructor:
Spring 2008
TE 803 was my first graduate level course in the field of education. During my teaching internship year I was taught what my professional role looked like in and out of the classroom as an educator. Much of my time was spent analyzing what good teaching practices looked like and how I could continue to develop them as I moved on to my own classroom.

TE 804: Reflection and Inquiry in Teaching Practice II
Instructor:
Spring 2008
TE 804 enabled me to thoughtfully reflect on what I had learned and accomplished during my internship year teaching at Michigan State. I spent time working with peers to assess what my strengths and weaknesses were and how I could improve on them in the future. This course prepared me to showcase my skill set and take on the responsibility of my own classroom.
